At LightWay Ministries, we believe being the hands and feet of Jesus means stepping beyond the walls of the church and meeting people where they are. Through compassion, prayer, service, and sharing the Word of God, we want our neighbors to know they are loved, seen, and never forgotten.
Compassion Outreach
Once a month, we reach out to our neighbors experiencing homelessness by providing a meal, spending time together, praying, and sharing the Word of God. Our heart is to build genuine connections, offer encouragement, and show the love of Jesus through both our words and our actions.
Visiting Smithfield Manor
We also visit Smithfield Manor, a local rehabilitation center, to spend time with residents, share conversation, offer encouragement, and remind them that they are seen and not forgotten. We also look for ways to encourage and bless the staff who care for them.
Sometimes, simply showing up, listening, and spending time with someone can make a meaningful difference.
Fifth Sunday Outreach
On months with a fifth Sunday, we take a different approach to gathering as a church. Rather than meeting in person for corporate worship, we go out into the community to serve and share the love of Christ in practical ways.
Some of our past outreaches have included a free community yard sale, free Christmas gift wrapping, and prayer walks with Love Life. We are always looking for new opportunities to serve our neighbors and partner with others who share a heart for our community.
Be Part of What We're Doing
We believe everyone has something to offer, and there are many ways to make a difference. Whether you're interested in serving, joining an upcoming outreach, or partnering with us, we'd love to connect with you!
Visit our Events page for upcoming dates, additional details, and information on how to sign up.
Together, let's share the love of Jesus beyond the walls of the church.
