Visiting a church for the first time can feel a little intimidating, but we'd love to make it easy. At LightWay, we're a family of imperfect people learning to follow Jesus together. You don't have to have it all figured out or know anyone before you come. Just come as you are—there's a place for you here!
Our Sunday mornings are about worshiping Jesus, growing in God's Word, and spending time together as a church family. We're a smaller, close-knit church, and we want you to feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment you walk in. Someone will be there to greet you and help you find your way.
We meet at Smithfield Cinemas, located at 175 S. Equity Drive in Smithfield, NC. You can park out front and enter through the theater's main entrance. Someone from our church family will be there to greet you and help you get where you need to go.
Kids are part of our church family! Children worship with everyone during the beginning of the service before heading to a nearby auditorium for their own age-appropriate lesson. We love investing in the next generation and helping kids grow in their understanding of Jesus.
Our kids' ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade.
Whatever you're comfortable in! You don't need special clothes or a certain look to fit in at LightWay. Come as you are. We're much more interested in getting to know you than in what you're wearing.
Church is about more than Sunday mornings. It's about building relationships, growing in faith, and walking through life together.
There are opportunities to connect through men's and women's discipleship groups, youth nights, church-wide gatherings, and community outreach.
Men's Discipleship: A place for men to grow in faith, build strong relationships, and be challenged to lead well through honest conversation and biblical truth. Our men meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month, in host homes.
Women's Discipleship: A space for women to grow in faith, build meaningful connections, and be encouraged through Scripture while helping lead our church-wide outreach efforts. Our women meet on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month in host homes.
Youth (6th–12th grade): Our youth gather Sundays at 6:00 PM for host-home gatherings and group outings focused on growing in faith and building community.

Absolutely! We believe everyone has something to offer, and there are many ways to use your gifts to serve others. Whether you're ready to jump in or just want to learn more, we'd love to help you find a place to connect.
Some ways to serve include:
Prayer & Care: Offer prayer, support, and encouragement.
Safety: Help create a safe environment for our church family.
Facility: Help with setup, teardown, and caring for the spaces God has entrusted to us.
Worship & Production: Serve through vocals, instruments, media, or sound.
Kids: Invest in the next generation.
Youth: Build relationships with students and help them grow in faith.
Hospitality: Welcome people and help them feel at home.
Outreach: Share the gospel through practical acts of service, church-wide events, and small-group street outreach.
There's no pressure to do everything. We'd love to help you find a place where you can use your gifts and grow alongside others.
